Tips for Moving

Tips for Moving

  ●   Realize that moving is a very tense and difficult time. Take an interest in
your move and be available on the day of packing and loading.

  ●   Confirm with the local moving company that you both have received the
       same pack and load dates.

  ●   Contact the local moving company the morning of your pack date to find
out what time to expect the packing crew.  Keep in mind that crews
often arrive much later than they anticipate.

  ●   Place all high value items in one room and have them packed in your
presence. Make sure that the correct security seal numbers are placed
       on your inventories.

  ●   Many times, moving companies will mix items from different rooms in order to
increase your shipment's density, in turn protecting your items from potential loss
       and damage.

  ●   Place all hardware from disassembled items (screws, nuts, bolts, tools, etc.),
and all remote controls, into sealable bag(s), and make sure they are inventoried.
Small items, such as these, are usually lost if special care is not taken.

  ●   Please keep in mind that furniture and household goods were not meant to be
moved halfway around the globe, so rubbing, scratches, dings, and dents do occur.
While this is a fact, we will do our best to negate loss and damage.

  ●   Please be aware that during the summer months, moving companies are in their
peak season, so capacity does become an issue. Packing/delivery crews may be
       late during this crunch time.

  ●   The Transportation Office has Quality Inspectors on staff, if you need them.
